What material is the bee jewellery made from?
Most of our Manchester and Bee jewellery pieces are made from metal alloys with a silver or gold-tone finish. They’re lead and nickel free, so they’re fine for sensitive skin.
Will the silver or gold colour wear off over time?
As with all plated jewellery, with regular wear, slight fading can happen eventually. But if you keep them dry and avoid spraying perfume etc onto them, they’ll last a lot longer.
Are the earrings suitable for people with metal allergies?
Yes, our bee jewellery is all lead and nickel free, which most people with sensitive ears find totally fine. But if you have a severe allergy, maybe check with your GP first. How big are the bee earrings and necklaces?
The bee earrings are small and subtle – around 1.5 cm. The bee necklace pendants are a bit bigger, roughly 2.5 cm across. They’re lightweight and comfy to wear.
Can I wear this jewellery every day?
You can! They’re designed for regular wear, and the finish is good quality. Just keep them dry and store them properly to keep them looking clean and elegant.Where can I see the full bee jewellery collection?
It’s all up on our shop under the Bee Jewellery section. We’ve got earrings, necklaces and bracelets, plus some new additions coming soon.Does your bee jewellery come in a gift box?
Sure does! All our bee jewellery comes in a nice little black gift box, making it a great ready made gift, especially for anyone with a connection to Manchester.
Are they always in stock?
If it does not say out of stock on the website then it is available. If something is out of stock, it’s usually back within a couple of weeks.
What else is in the bee range?
Alongside earrings and necklaces and bee bracelets, we’ve got bee cufflinks, keyrings and more. It’s a growing range that’s always getting new additions.
Which types of bees are featured in your jewellery?
Most of our pieces are based on the Manchester bee, which is a stylised version of a worker bee, originally used as a symbol of the city’s industrial strength and teamwork during the 19th century. It’s not a bumble bee, even though people sometimes think it is. The Manchester bee has a slimmer body and more defined wing lines, and it’s become a proper icon around here. We also sell a few honeybee items, which have a slightly different shape and look.
